Hi zidane.
I wonder too.
It works via a simple finger cuff.
website : https://medasense.com/
“Founded in 2008 by Galit Zuckerman, Medasense’s innovative technology assesses changes in a patient’s level of pain. The company’s flagship product is a non-invasive pain monitoring device that can help clinicians achieve better patient outcomes by accurately adjusting treatment”
Here are some more leads for anyone interested in learning more :
On January 9, 2019 it announced it was compatible with Philips IntelliVue
https://medasense.com/nol-technology-compatibility-with-philips-intellivue-patient-monitors
IntelliVue is a platform that has been mentioned here already- as having Painchek potential - on the Philips Healthworks thread ;
Here is a description; https://www.usa.philips.com/healthc...egiver-mobile-app-for-patient-monitoring-data -
It seems to be for hospital-based data monitoring only.
EG; this report (2018) on futuristic nursing in South Australia is one of many that mention IntelliVue in a hospital setting. In this case a cardio ward.
I linked it because it is Australian, it talks about pain management and specifically says on leaving hospital he patient transitions to an ‘at home’ system
https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/76dff240-1117-46f6-a90c-fb6f41bd3866/Virtual Clinical Care - Futuristic Nusring for South Australia Final rep....pdf?MOD=AJPERES&CACHEID=ROOTWORKSPACE-76dff240-1117-46f6-a90c-fb6f41bd3866-mSeV76Q page 61;
..”The platform used is a Phillips system in hospital called “IntelliVue Guardian System” (IGS). The at home platform is called “Transition to Electronic Ambulatory Care” (eTrAC). The video visits are completed using the Vidyo application provided by Yorktel”
....but I haven’t looked extensively.
I was also curious about the partners/distributors of Medasense’s current hospital version;
One is Medtronic.
It had revenue of about US$30billion in 2017 and is public company specialising in health devices https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MDT/
“Medtronic plc is a medical device company that generates the majority of its sales and profits from the U.S. healthcare system but is headquartered in the Republic of Ireland for tax purposes. Medtronic has an operational and executive headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota in the U.S. Wikipedia
...and Philips has a history of at least one instance of collaboration with it (https://www.philips.com/a-w/about/n...-guided-treatment-of-atrial-fibrillation.html)
Another, shown on the Medasense homepage, is CAREstream Medical in Canada
That may be the same company Philips recently bought ? (See https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/41394568/single)....
Regardless Philips clearly knows about the technology and still wanted to workshop with Painchek.
cheers
