I said they can comment on stocks going up, just not go into much detail about the reason why. They can say something like "this stock rose following an announcement of results" but that's about it. There are always small caps rising 20%+ each day on news, if he listed them all every day the stock segment would be even more useless and boring

I was responding to people asking why he wouldn't allocate a certain amount of time to doing a segment on the news itself, which would be venturing to close to providing financial advice (unless he simply read it without commenting I guess, but even that still risks the perception that he's promoting speculative investments which is something news outlets prefer to avoid)
