Yes - I totally agree. This is actually the most interesting presentation on CF33 to date. Yuman already set a high bar with some of his previous talks, but he just raised the standard even higher.
The confirmation of ongoing durable effect for the two Cholangio patients was huge news for me, but what I appreciated even more was the additional detail he gave throughout his talk. Really interesting explanations of the CF33 mode of action, and the interplay with the immune system. Extremely interesting background on CAR-T's generally.
There was also (for me) new info on the interaction between a CAR-T and the cancer cells infected with the CD19 expressing version of CF33 (OnCARlytics). We know that a cancer cell infected with CF33 will eventually be destroyed by it - releasing more virus which can then attack more cancer cells. However Yuman's observation is that the CAR-T destroys the infected cell faster than would happen if the job was left to CF33 alone, or CF33 and the immune response. The result - because CFD33 has been replicating inside the infected cell, when that cell is destroyed the cargo of CF33 viral units is released - to infect other cancer cells - and this happens sooner than would have been the case without the CAR-T. ie the addition of the CAR-T not only speeds up the destruction of cancer cells - it also speeds up the infection rate of the CF33. So - a double benefit.
@GMT2 - a shout out to you too, my friend. Yes you are right - Yuman definitely sees the CF33 dose going significantly higher, and his mention of adding T cells to boost the immune response - sounds like a further improvement they are planning to roll out.
I've been too busy to listen a second time, but I will definitely make time to do that.
