After a bit more research, I have found some interesting information around shorts and "Days to cover" it's basically the number of days of "average" trading volume required to close out the number of shorts outstanding. (see the formula below)
Imugene is listed as the 38th most shorted ASX listed company with about 4.9% of shares "shorted" (Flight Centre is number one at 17%)
Below is listed shorts for IMU and the 13 is the number of days required to cover these shorts.
My thoughts one the number of days - The more days required to close out all short positions, presents a greater risk to short sellers, when you think about it if the "days to close" was "1" then a short position could easily be closed out in one day without a real impact on the average volume.
If we get a great announcement, then it will be a blood bath for short sellers trying to achieve 13x the average volume in order to close their positions.
I cant wait to see this happen, we will see a share price huge gain in a very short timeframe.
