Yes fat I agree with your analogy, but to a point.
A (meaning one) .22 calibre bullet will kill, if applied directly to a vulnerable target, but will only wound if applied elsewhere.
If on the other hand, you have one hell of a raging rhinoceros of a headache, the only thing to stop it will be a larger calibre round.
It's that " round " that fit's all is what they're looking for.
We know it will work, just how much!
