    How sad, I have a feeling they just didn't want to believe it. Imagine setting up a research centre to cure breast cancer only to have a potential answer delivered right to you.. Too much pride perhaps?
    If you've dedicated your life's work to solving a problem and then overnight a solution is found, there would be a lot of soul searching going on after I'd imagine.
