I think they have written a pretty good summary of the current state of play for Imugene. Their writer seems to feel that Her-vaxx is the closest product to nailing a deal, which is understandable, but I do think they are overlooking the potential for the Ph 1 Checkvacc and Vaccinia trials to produce data which will rock the market and have partners lining up.

The other dark horse is OnCARlytics. Leslie sounds mighty excited by the data from the preclinical studies currently underway - and she has stated that the data is headed for publication. If OnCARlytics really does enable existing CD-19 targeting CAR-T drugs to effectively target solid tumours then commercialisation could be extremely rapid - because there are several such drugs already approved and in use.

IMU would have to demonstrate safety with a Phase 1 trial - but OnCARlytics is just a variant of CF33 and we already have two CF33 variants in Ph 1 trials - with no dose limiting toxicity so far, and Checkvacc has just started Cohort 3. A successful Phase 1, along with data showing that OnCARlytics really does expose solid tumours to CAR-T attack, might attract serious commercial partnership deals ahead of even a Phase 2 combo trial. Even ahead of deal offers, good data from the CF33 Ph1 trials and/or good preclinical data for OnCARlytics would (in my view) push the IMU share price back to and beyond previous highs because it would greatly de-risk IMU and indicate the likelihood of future commercialisation in a massive market.

IMU requires patience, and the share market will buffet us around ahead of any further good news, but the science will have the last word - and the science is looking better with each Announcement.

How it seems to me, at least.
