Sorry mate, ive been a bit sick myself. But no they dont let ppl suffer, they are under the standard (if there is one) treatment They cant be given these drugs till they have been approved. Yes it might cure the cancer but kill them of a heart attack/stroke, as an example. These are highly experimental treatments. Safety is number 1. I had 2 appointments in oncology, surgeon first. No problems he says, Ill cut that, irradiate this and chemo that. That lifted my spirits enormously. Till the second appointment, the oncologist says, hes not touching you. That will not save your life. There is only one experimental treatment that MAY work. Immunotherapy. Do you want to try it? (After blah blah blah, side affects etc, I didn't listen), I just said yes. I did ask him about placebo, he said that is not used very much in Australia anymore. The testing has come a long way and its not needed as much. As far as I know, like I say I dont know much, everybody gets treated, whether it works or not, is where Dr Fong comes in. Taking into account all the variables....which he try's to control to get a positive repeatable provable result.
