I am trying to weigh up how I feel about IMU working with Renovo and their TAMP technology.
I have to wonder where it will be placed against the potential CAR-T blockbusters or even the checkpoint inhibitors.
To do this I have tried to balance the pros and cons ...
The CONS
• It involves using a very old therapy ie. chemo.
Is this the path we want to take? or
Do we want to distance ourselves?• The wait. The combo trial, if it does proceed, will not begin until 2024.
If successful, when would we see an approval?• Renovo seem to be only interested in what CF33 can do to help them with hypovascular tumors.
So, who really needs who?The PROS
• It involves using Chemo, a therapy that oncologists know well and believe in.
Will this increase it uptake if successful?• It is already showing considerable success in both lowering toxicity and lifting survival rates.
This is very good.
• It is tackling one of the nastiest cancers we know - pancreatic.
Certainly an unmet need.
• It uses cutting-edge tech to deliver its dose and has good IP protection.
So, great earning potential.
• We have one more bio-tech that is very interested in working with what IMU has to offer.
Gives us more options.
• Renovo clearly likes what it sees in the CF33 suite.
It has looked under the bonnet as mentioned by several others.
• Renovo is a USA based bio-tech !!
This aspect should not be underestimated. Does the FDA have a bias towards locals?
• This combo MAY have the ability to increase our already impressive therapeutic window.
More is better, right?
I am sure others can expand the list on both the 'pros' and cons'. So, weighing it up, it seems to clearly fall into the
positive zone. Time will tell of course. I just like to know what the 'big picture' really is and to examine the potential.
Into the future, I suspect we may have other bio-techs wishing to tap into our amazing tech. This can only be a good thing.
