Basically - the trial protocol means you only get the dose level for the cohort you are in. They have to do it that way, because scientifically it's the only way you can show the effect at each dose level, and truly identify the "optimal biologic dose" - which (along with safety) is the main purpose of the trial.

So - if you achieve "Stable Disease" - that's great! However, because of the trial protocol you cannot then go to a higher dose to try and achieve an even better result.

The consequence - entirely understandable - is that patients will simply leave the study and seek some other treatment, to see if they can build on their "Stable Disease" achievement and actually send their cancer into remission. I would probably do the same!

So that's why we see so many patients "off treatment" as of 31 October. However - we also see a very strong correlation between dose level and patient response. Absolutely the higher dose cohort patients did better. This I great news for Vaxinia. It means we can expect to see even better results - possibly far better - once we get data for patients at the dose levels now being administered.
