Gem of an interview. Thanks for putting it up, Hedrox. Also to Owl v Fox for the detailed commentary.
Just wanted to emphasise a couple of points.
Why keep it in-house?
"Partly because some of those groups you have mentioned - Apple, Microsoft, Amazon - some of them have a view that it's got to be created internally. The other thing is that...our algorithm technology works out what the pressure actually is at your organ level and that in some ways is maybe a step further than some of those groups actually want to go.
"The other major thing is that a lot of those groups in the wearable space, if you think of Apple and Garmin and a range of others, they really come from a type of lifestyle angle. Even Whoop and others. What we're doing is actually taking FDA cleared technology that's in that clinical and research setting and taking it into the wearables, into the home, into the consumer, into the patient.
"What we've initially realised is that we are better off proving we can do that by taking product to market."
Initially?
Seems to be a subtext here. Firstly, as Oriel says, they've been very open about discussions with the big groups mentioned. There has been discussion on this thread around that, often coming from the POV that, if CDX technology is so good, why haven't Apple or someone either licensed it or made an offer outright? The inference being, maybe the tech isn't all its made out to be.
Niall gives us the answer.
As is often the case, the Apples and Microsofts of the world want to know it can be done, that it works, that there is a market for it, before entering into any meaningful commercial discussions.
Only conjecture, but it seems to me these initial discussions may have been along the lines of, show us it works and we'll talk again.
Critical to this is the PPG sensor technology.
"Our newer sensor technology enables us to get the pressure inputs we need from a normal sensor. That's taking us into the wearables side. Importantly for Mobvoi, that is what we have, what we will have, what we do have, a pressure sensor separate to the normal PPG sensors that are on a watch.
"So some of those groups you mentioned earlier that we talked about, they didn't want to put an extra sensor onto their watch.
"But Mobvoi were very happy to, and it's their first step out into health related parameters."
So, most if not all the groups mentioned, fall into the healthy lifestyle fashion market and don't want to step outside that.
Fair enough. All that does is create further opportunity for CardieX as first and best in class, best of breed, in the clinical-grade wearable space.
In that respect, the one major global group that doesn't get a mention, (Yes, Owl, both Chris and Niall are very circumspect about what they say and how they say it), but is making major inroads into the personal wearable health market is Mobvoi's in-house China partner - Google.
I've long thought Google is the obvious partner on the dance card. That remains to be seen, but if Mobvoi is the willing, able and successful test case, who comes next?
Lastly, CONNEQT.
"We do see great opportunity for the CONNEQT Ecosystem in the clinical trial market as well as the wider consumer-patient market. The focus for the next year is going to be much more launch-orientated.
"Whether they be Pharma, CRO's ( Yes, again, Owl!) or more retail orientated groups, they will not only be US-centric.
"There is a great opportunity, we have had good interest from a range of other countries in the world, from India and others who have big hypertension issues within their population.
"So it is really a global view that we've got and very much market launch focused partnerships going forward.
India?
All of which sits hand-in-glove with the consolidation, the OTCQX listing and the many other initiatives they have underway that will become more obvious as milestones are met and they are implemented.
IMO current market volatility creates opportunity.
