I personally think property is a much better long term investment than shares.
Shares u can buy and sell....thats about it.
Property you can buy, sell, develop, trade out, release equity while holding the underlying asset, joint venture, partner, renovate, put options on, lease, rent, along with many other practices.
Its the opportunities that property can grant u that I like, as well as the satisfaction.
Buying a shre for 2c and selling at 20c.....although exciting.......really is quite boring to be honest.
All u can do is pin buy and sell orders around your room I guess to feel the satisfaction.
I trade shares (short term) and its only to build equity in my proprties.
Shares come and go....houses have substance and u can drive past and admire.
Shares can be treated like footy punting.
You can bet who will win the premiership day one and wait a year for the results and your return.....
or you can back your team each week with various amounts and hope for a return weekly.
This is why I prefer shares as a short term investment to drive my long term property investments.
Each to their own I guess.
