politicians don’t like charging for water and sanitation but they will also lose elections if they don’t deliver that basic societal requirement.

Either way politicians will lose elections. So nothing gets done. This creates the intransigence that South Africa finds themselves in. If the poiliticians don't have the iron will and the back bone to make some really tough decisions, nothing happens. It requires really super leadership qualities, an altruistic street fighter, a Lee Kuan Yew type of character or a Xi Jin Ping to get things moving, but that raises a whole of other sensitivities in this day and age. I really don't have an answer. I am just a businessman and a pragmatist. China is where things will get done and where MABR has chosen to make its foray.
