Yes, China was slow to admit the outbreak. But they are now trying to catch up with the virus from shutting down Wuhan, to building the hospital in 10 days, to now seeking help from the US. The virus is contagious but not as lethal as say MERS that kills 40% of all infected. SARS was 10%. Right now the rate is 2% for the coronavirus.
China is evolving. It is not the pariah communist nation that the Western press would like to paint it to be. They will clean the place up, starting with waste water treatment systems in the cities and municipals.
