Fluence Corporation Limited (ASX: FLC) is pleased to announce that it has secured a SUBRE membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR) sale in the Kingdom of Cambodia’s Sihanoukville Port for the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction through its local partner Xwater Technology Co., Ltd. This order has a value of more than US$7 million, consists of 66 SUBRE towers, and is expected to be delivered by June 2020.
This Smart Products Solution consists of three separate SUBRE greenfield projects totaling 15,100 m3/day (two 4,500m3/day and one 6,100m3/day plant) for newly built decentralised wastewater treatment plants. The treated wastewater will meet standards equivalent to China’s Class 1B effluent standard and will be discharged directly into the sea without requiring further treatment.
This is the first biological sewage wastewater treatment system to be installed by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The rapid expansion of the population of Sihanoukville, limited available land for wastewater plants, and the expedited timeframe for delivery, were all key considerations in favor of Fluence’s SUBRE solution.
One of the main benefits of the MABR technology is that it produces reliable and consistent high effluent quality. The energy efficient, modular, and pre-engineered SUBRE plant has a smaller footprint than traditional treatment options and allows for quick and easy deployment supported by remote monitoring, as well as ease of operation and maintenance.
