The question begs, isn’t FLC worried that the Chinese research institute would copy MABR after it has learnt everything about the product and make their own? Is FLC wreckless by forming a 3 way coalition between SOE, themselves and a technical college? What on earth is FLC doing?
Imagine, if GE appliance did the same with Haier by setting friendship pacts when they came into China all those years ago. Would GE be still around instead of being bought out by Haier?
Stuff of MBA case studies. Either FLC is confident of a future product pipeline or they are wreckless by giving the secrets away to a future potential competitor. Or is FLC keen to build up a collaborative network for the long term?
How we answer these questions will determine whether we stay in for the full nine yards.
