GUIZHOU SEEKS INTEREST IN USD 92M WASTEWATER PPP (InfraNews, 12 June)

A county water conservancy bureau in southwestern China’s Guizhou province today launched a prequalification for a CNY 651m (USD 92m) wastewater treatment PPP project.

The project in Qianxi county of Bijie city will be open only to companies registered in China.

The second phase of the project will involve the construction of wastewater treatment facilities in 16 villages and towns, including five treatment plants with a daily capacity of 200m³ each, four with a daily capacity of 300m³ each and one with a daily capacity of 500m³, as well as 31.3km pipelines.

Construction will take two years and the concession period is 18 years.

To implement the PPP, a project company will be jointly established by the county government and the private investor. The project capital will be CNY 151m, accounting for 23.24% of the total investment. The government funding representative will hold a 49% stake in the company and the private investor the remaining.

The project will profit from user charges and viability gap funding.Applicants must have minimum net assets of CNY 77.22m and a credit line of at least CNY 500m.

Consortia can have a maximum of three members.Applications must be submitted by 23 June.

I asked whether FLC was bidding for these sorts of deals at the AGM and Henry responded yes. I think it's only a matter of time until we are part of a consortium that win one of these. This one looks particularly suited to FLC technology given the size of plant.
