There was obvious tension with Henry at the helm... Richard obviously wanted to focus more on SPS, but Henry was determined to go big and close out the legacy RWL business.
How much of management bandwidth did the San Quintin and Ivory Coast transactions soak up? I’d say a lot... and that would have frustrated the hell out of Richard who wants the SPS business to be our focus.
So personally, I don’t think there is a better person to make SPS a successful business... but one thing is for sure, it’s got a much better chance of succeeding under Richard than it did under Henry.
