Hi there.
There are 3 producers of MABR including FLC. One is owned by Dupont (formerly Oxymem) and the other is Suez (formerly GE Water. Their product is called Zeelung). The background of MABR can be found at their respective websites. Suffice to say, where they differ with FLC is their models are "drop-in" into legacy sites, much like FLC's SUBRE model. But SUBRE needs to drain the basin before they can be installed. All 3 are addressing the retrofit markets, i.e., old and existing waste water facilities that need to increase treatment capacity with the existing footprint.
Where FLC is ahead is in China with the smart packaged systems. These are quick plug and play MABR systems built into containers that allow easy installation on site. The other two competitors are concentrated in the western markets (Canada, Ireland, UK, etc). FLC has installed more than 180 sites in China and counting. It's a numbers game and numbers matter. More sites mean more data generated, more validation of the technology, which in turn leads to more acceptance and more positive momentum.
China was a tough market to penetrate. I believe being Israeli in its technology gave FLC an edge plus the fact that Israel and China are friends. Dupont and Suez have not been as successful for various reasons chiefly because FLC has a great team on the ground who understands Chinese culture and cares for their customers' needs. FLC made the beach-head in China with Aspiral (smart packaged) first before SUBRE and that was the right decision whereas Dupont and Suez do not have smart packaged models to begin with.
SE Asia is also coming up to speed. SE Asian countries (Vietnam, Cambodia and Philippines) are good at copying, especially copying those models that work. Right now, that model is the one the Chinese have created with iTest, Panjin and Kaitian, the 3 volume customers of FLC.
I could go on and on, but please go into their website for reference materials. All the best to you.
