Sat through this, there was nothing much different from the Fluence presentation other than a couple throwaway comments.
2 of the larger (greenfield SUBRE) plants in the Philippines are just starting up.
1 of the plants that went into the USA (I think for United States Department of Agriculture) was for an animal wildlife sanctuary, very decentralized, no real trained operators on site to manage the plant. I can't wait to see if we get a case study on that, would be a very interesting use case.

This is the amount of investment required to bring the Philippines up to minimum requirements for basic access to water supply and sanitation.
278,070 million PhP for Water Supply = $5.57 billion USD.
455,587 million PhP for Sanitation = $9.13 billion USD.
Not sure that amount is actually going to be spent during this 2019 to 2023 period.
There are basically too many cooks in the kitchen in the Philippine water sector. Too many different institutions managing the economic regulation of water means that it is difficult to get a consistent approach across the whole country.
Australia and NZ leading the pack in sanitation worldwide. No wonder investors in Australia don't really understand FLC. Doesn't everyone in the world use a toilet like us??? By 2030 there will still be 2.8 billion people worldwide without safely managed sanitation services.
Fluence were involved in this because partner Manila Water and the Embassy of Israel were organizers/sponsors of this event.
I believe there were over 700 participants who would have tuned in.
Hopefully Fluence can get a bit of attention from this, as they were the only WWTP/desalination plant manufacturer who presented.
Helps that they have Ayala/Manila Water as a partner as well, the largest conglomerate/company in the Philippines which is the best stamp of approval. Might also be able to pick up some development funding from USAID as part of this Philippine Water Challenge.
