    Hi Matty,

I had combed through some of these articles before. Essentially, in addition to Phnom Penh, the 3 other cities that are receiving WWTP attentions are Sihanoukville, Siem Reap and Battambang. From my memory, the Japanese contractor through ADB had secured the $20m project after quite a few years of to and fro studies. As far as I am aware, our presence is in Sihanoukville.

What is important to note here is our PS1, 2 and 3 are for treating the effluent before it hits the sea, which is crucial for the tourism industry there. I believe there are more to do there, having raw sewage discharging into the river and just treating it before it flows into the ocean is still not the way to go for a modern city, there has to be more plants needed nearer to the points of discharge. This is where I think the decentralised systems will be needed in saving expensive pipe works as the existing small little WWTP for the city is just not enough to cope.

The proposed Ream City east of Sihanoukville to be developed by the Prince Group could be the first city planning to incorporate the decentralised system for its 150,000 population. The attractive part of using a decentralised system is that the city may take 15 to 20 years to develop, it will only need to put in the WWTP as and when it needs and not putting in a mega plant from the start.

As the election in Cambodia is in the next couple of months, we would hope the same government X-Water supports will remain in office.

In other regions, we may also need political endorsements on top of our product merits to gain in roads. Lets hope our partners out there are betting the right horses.

As to answer your question about South East Asia, I haven't read any news on our sales to Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia etc. Vietnam still needs desalination projects; the Philippines just had a change of government where Marcos's son is now the president, and interestingly, Duterte's daughter is the vice president. So Manila Water and Maynilad Water will have to reconfigure their political duties to proceed with more projects.

Fluence now has a Asian HQ in Singapore, I guess it naturally has a good reason to be there right in the middle of South East Asia. So I guess Shanghai/Beijing HQ for China in general, Singapore HQ for outside China.

Hope this is not a lengthy "I dunno".
