Interesting (biased?) Selected Alternatives Matrix which seems to suggest MBBR is better on reliability, footprint, and 2nd cheapest to Trickling Filter/ Wetland (which is not likely to due to permitting req.)
I thought FLC had some buried MABR system in a city park in China.
Opex - I also thought MABR had one of the lowest Opex/ energy req. in the industry
As this & previous posters have mentioned MABR is still viewed as emerging Tech. ("Ahem excuse me; Sihanoukville 1, 2 & 3, Cambodia? or ~350 SPS MABR systems sold worldwide? ")
