An interesting update coming from Aerospace Kaitian Environmental. The mayor of Yiyang city and secretary of the municipal party committee have recently visiting the site which was built by Aerospace Kaitian Environment and Fluence China. Some key points that I have made from the article:
1. The wastewater treatment plant was built in two phases, it has 4 Aspiral L4 units which treats up to 800 m3 wastewater per day, I believe this is the largest single MABR wastewater treatment plant in China if not around the world.
2. There are certainly some pressures coming out from the central government as it is quite rare that both the mayor of the city and secretary of the municipal party committee visited a wastewater treatment plant.
3. The first plant that was built right next to a river, and the effluent can be discharged back to the river.
On the afternoon of May 9, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, convened the city's on-site meeting to promote urban and rural environmental infrastructure construction and the mobilization meeting to rectify the “100-day attack”. Participants inspected the local environmentally-friendly household waste incineration power plant, Qingxi Village of Xielingang Town and Xielingang Town Wastewater Treatment Plant of Yiyang High-tech Zone, and discussed in depth the work of garbage sewage treatment, rural residential environment improvement and environmental protection rectification.

The Xielingang Town Wastewater Treatment Plant, completed in March 2019, was completed in two phases. The first phase was 200 m3/day, the second phase was 600 tm3/day, and the total scale was 800 m3/day. The Kaitian Environmental was responsible for civil engineering construction work, Fluence China was responsible for supplying the technology. The project covers an area of 3,544 square meters. It uses the Aspiral intelligent sewage treatment system. The MABR process effectively breaks through the traditional process bottleneck and has the characteristics of low energy consumption, small footprint and easy installation and operation. This is the first application of the MABR Aspiral wastewater treatment system in Hunan Province, China, to treat the general domestic sewage in rural areas, and the effluent water quality meets the strict national level 1A water quality standard and can be discharged back to the Zhixi River.
