The government has made an absolute f#cking circus of this public health response to RAT! I can't believe they are now encouraging individuals to order in unapproved RAT's. Where does it stop, will people order in other unapproved tests (i.e. HIV, STI tests) where it works out consumers can get a cheaper price for a test not listed on the ARTG?
It seems largely unfair that businesses that import tests (and other medical devices or drugs) into the country with the good intention of navigating the costly red tape that is the process of listing on the ARTG, with all the associated testing costs that goes with ensuring a medical device or drug is safe and efficient for use, now has the potential to effectively be undercut by questionable companies that do not bother to spend money on ensuring the accuracy of their product.... I can not fathom why this govt., or any govt. for that matter, would promote this idea to the Australian consumer?
