@Hippie Hiya, yes, your understanding + research is correct.
Naturally any US FDA related EUA or 501(k) full approvals for home self-testing using Carestart Ag RDTs is not applicable for AU market (yet). No Covid19 tests (of any sort) are approved for AU home use/direct consumer purchase...so the next level QR code/digital health app usage for CareStart test results + auto-health dept uploads is not setup here (yet).
Its quite possible similar self-test approvals + digital app functions will be allowed here in FY22/23 - when the 'pandemic' becomes more of an 'endemic' event (or events go the opposite way where even larger outbreaks & more severe infection strains overload the current PCR testing/data collation capacity..though this is not a scenario I would really like to see here, from an AU citizen PoV).
Approvals here also become more likely when we reach higher levels of vaccinations = reduction in severe infection trend, much lower hospitalisation rates = general public self-testing/app uploads etc are acceptable in the longer term and the health bodies can return back to their usual overseer function.
