It is still relatively early days in Canada. About 12 - 18 months we've been there I think?
Pretty sure sales reporting are aggregated in North America segment so it's tricky to get a feel for how the fresh milk is travelling. At this stage in a new market though, it's still all about expanding distribution. They are partnered with Agrifoods Co-op which atleast guarantees them some distribution but may also be limiting due to the exclusivity of the partnership.
In theory I like the strategy of establishing a fresh milk business, brand recognition/loyalty, distribution network etc. before leveraging off that to infant formula. The trouble is that in the USA they just seem indecisive and uncomitted to making that next step. It's taken the current crisis to force them to act.
Perhaps it could come sooner in Canada if the regulations are more receptive to foreign IF - I dont know much about Canada's system.
