    Overall sales environment

    Overall it seems like the scale of the event has slowed in terms of growth. According to Syntun data, the major platfroms (Tmall + JD + Pinduoduo) did 582 billion RMB this year compared to 578 billion RMB last year. Syntun says it data shows that Tmall was still the largest in terms of sales.

    It also indicates that livestreaming like Douyin and Kuaishou platforms are becoming more popular. They accounted for an additional 144 billion RMB in sales. Overall sales on Douyin saw an increase of 183 percent year on year. A2 seems to have performed well on Douyin. Then there's something else known as 'community group buyying platforms' that are taking off as well (22 billion RMB).

    JD posted its own data (which doesn't quite line up with Syntun) but reckons that their overall sales are still growing (379 billion RMB, up 10% from 2021). Alibaba/Tmall doesn't seem to have posted its overall revenue. The speculation seems to be that sales are down, and IMO probably lost to JD and these other newer platforms.

    JD is tricky becaue it does not publish brand rankings that acount for sales across all a brands product listings within a category, or across the whole duration of the festival. Instead, it publishes daily 'hot lists' of highest selling product listings:

    Having said this, you can see that A2 topping many of the lists at the moment (so remember this is based on sales for each day). It is clear that products like Stage 4 (which ranked low on Tmall) and Smart Nutrition are performing really well on JD. But also Stage 3 English label and other stages of China label seem to be doing well.
