Seems like a sensible investment to me. Ultimately there may be a benefit to NZ farmers, and potentially some commercialisable technology that comes out of the research AgrizeroNZ is doing. Arguably makes much more sense for a dairy company to be involved in than alot of the other partners, who are mostly banks.

Would rather they just put the funds towards science (which the government is also coinvesting in) rather than time and energy themselves. Similar goes for the boiler they put in at MVM with a large government grant from memory. But I understand this sort of stuff is uniformly unpopular on HotCopper. ESG is a part of business and has been for years. It's just about getting the priorities right (look at Synlait for a bad example).
