Tmall’s 618 sale got off to a good start, with overseas brands stepping up their efforts and sourcing goods from around the world. Nearly 50,000 new and high-quality products were gathered on Tmall International.
This year, Tmall's 618 sale, with official instant discounts and large-value coupons on the platform, has boosted enthusiasm for imported consumption. In the first hour of the 618 sale, 374 overseas brands doubled their sales year-on-year; in the first phase of the sale, 109 overseas brands achieved sales of over 10 million yuan. Overseas brands have seized the biggest business growth opportunity of the year. New Zealand milk powder brand A2 saw a 55% increase in sales during the first phase of Tmall’s 618 shopping event, and urgently launched a cross-border stock transfer plan. The 100,000 pieces of popular stock originally scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong in late June were brought forward to the end of May.
