A2 Milk chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka has plenty of reasons to be smiling right now as the company’s share price tracks back towards the record $14 mark it reached a month ago.

And it looked like she might have an extra reason to be happy judging from an interesting sight yesterday in one of the biggest Coles supermarkets in Melbourne.

After all the hype around global food giant Nestle’s launch of an a2 infant formula product in Australia late last year, the sign next to the product on the Coles shelves now says “Reduced to Clear”.

When our operative inquired of an in-store Coles rep about the sign, they were told it was reduced to clear “because Nestle are not making the product any more”.

But Nestle has assured us that’s not the case.

The Swiss giant tells us it is continuing with its “NAN A2”, even if the discount shelves suggest it’s not exactly jumping into Australian trolleys.
