Milk New Zealand is a Chinese-owned company set up after the purchase of the Crafar farms.
During a live-stream in July with one influencer, who has more than 28 million followers, Milk New Zealand sold more than 70,000 cartons of its specialized protein UHT milk in one minute.
The sales were the equivalent to 28 shipping containers of the cartons."
Why has A2M's deal with Fonterra after all this time not come out with a similar UHT A2 milk product in this same space. It takes a Chinese company to buyout a NZ company to show some enterprising smarts to get into this space while the big boys twiddle their thumbs and let opportunities like these go to others who are more nibble and first movers into the space.
Hopefully our new CEO will speed up the pace of change at A2 Co and be a bit more more opportunistic and eager to chase new products or create new ones along the way. Personally I hate the whole idea of social influencers but if that is what it takes in this market to get traction then we should be using them to market our products.
