I am sitting here trying to understand why the share price has been smashed.
Shorts usually sit at 4% over the long term (as hoots kindly pointed out) as a hedge against long positions.
Thus shorts are only about 4% above normal, how can this impact the share price like it has.
I think the answer can be found at Simply Wall Street, at a2m, section 9.1 heading "Insider Trading Volume". This heading shows insider trading ( our own shareholders) and over the last 3 months they have sold 27 million shares and bought 75 million shares. This includes our Morgan Stanleys of the world.
They are running terrific algo's (bots) to buy more shares than they sell and at the same time force the price down.
So they are simply repositioning themselves on the share register at a lower cost.
I suppose the good thing is they are buying A2m shares back again.
i feel a bit insignificant at the moment. but ready to buy on the rebound. Think I need to write my own algos.
GLTALTH and stay the course.
