There is a bit of chat on a take over bid but I am not sure that will happen because a2 is not a distressed business, and I think a formal offer would have to be made to the Board who would make a formal recommendation to shareholders.
If the major shareholders are happy with the business, then they will want a good price.
A good price would be based on business as usual EPS and normalised growth expectations, not the short term issues/price we are having.
The takeover bid would have to pay for existing assets, future positive cash flows, and goodwill.
Think a takeover bid would need to be 2x current price +.
But I may be wrong on all of this. I did not pick this dip. But still maintain Buy sentiment.
