Mate, there are more than 100k MBS stores in China. They would need to visit thousands for even a remotely representative snapshot!
If it was me doing it, I'd at least select stores within each tier that provided a bit of a regional spread as well. Maybe they did, who knows. BTW I assumed that they visited some Tier 4's but probably A2 simply doesn't have much traction there yet. Still, as you say it's better than nothing. If 100% of stores they visited had no old inventory and consistent strong pricing, that's a good sign for instance.
