My view is that the Approx 3M uptick in Shorts after Jayne sold were people thinking she had sold because the coy's in the toilet.  The shorts then stabilised until the 4th Oct, UBS then announced on the 5th  that they were above 5%, they then went under but announced they were above again on 15th.   On 16th UBS went below.  On 17th Mac Bank announced  above 5% and then the following day announced they were below.

I believe that these shares have been loaned out for shorting (and probably other reasons as well) .  Be aware that shares can not be loaned out unless they are owned by a broker/insto or the owner has a margin loan/form of security  that contains those stocks. So therefore I think UBS and Mac Bank have obtained them and loaned them out, therefore creating the additional short numbers and additional liquidity.

Now do UBS or Macbank really care if the price goes up?  Nope.  One good result, sales above predictions, share buy back, dividend, upbeat projections and there will be lots of people in deep doo doo holding shorts. It will only take one big holder to start covering and there will be a stampede to the doors. 

Now if you look at the down side, the A2M price before the rocket in Jan was approx $7.31.  There SHOULD be no reason to drop below this even if the sales have slowed to the sorts of numbers before the Jan rocket, which the guidance indicates it won't be.
