Well I should reiterate this is just my suspicion / belief, but for anyone who followed the BUB drama last year none of this is new information.

BUB's former management cut a deal with Andy and several of his corporate daigou entities (I believe the main one is AZ Global) to launch and sell a new competitor product to A2 Platinum (BUBs A2 Supreme). Andy/AZ Global ordered loads of the product and also received a massive bonus payment. Lo and behold, they couldn't move it all and it clogged up the channels, massive discounting etc., China revenue dropped off a cliff. You know the story.

Except in BUB's case, the board sacked the former CEO/Founder as well as the Chairman, and also intitated legal proceedings against AZ Global.

Then, after all that, the former CEO and Chairman formed a consortium with AZ Global AND Peter Nathan. They held enough stock in the company to call an emergency meeting and vote, where the goal was to vote out the new management and install Peter Nathan as CEO. They had a 'Save Our Bubs' website and everything.

In their sales pitch, Peter Nathan made it very clear that daigou was still the way forward, so it was clear they wanted to double down on Andy (who also obviously had a vested interest as well). Their push failed. But it made crystal clear to me that PN and Andy Zhang were tied at the hip and in a mutually beneficial relationship - which causes me to reassess what really went on with A2 Milk in 2020.
