That’s my interpretation too.
Teslas patent was more to do with the dry application process.
Maybe their material synthesis method is not suitable for certain Chemistries.

Mark Obrovac’s 2020 DPMG patent doesn’t appear to cover Silicon.
In 2022 he submitted a patent to cover Silicon.
This used a different dry process method than what was used on the DPMG paper so different chemistries seem to need different methods of dry synthesis.

I just wonder if Teslas patents aren’t covering what’s now required so rather than start from scratch they’re looking at adopting NVX technology that still enables Tesla to use their dry application method.

Time will tell.
