Samsung SDI & Stellantis have just signed to build 2nd JV Battery plant in US, Break ground next April....More US demand, how's the MOU progressing??
Samsung SDI is ramping up local production volume in response to the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Previously, Samsung SDI and Stellantis agreed to scale up the capacity of Plant 1 from 23 GWh to 33 GWh. The first plant has been under construction in Kokomo, Indiana, since last year.
Once both plants go live, Samsung SDI will have a 67 GWh EV battery production capacity to supply batteries to Stellantis in the United States.
