Both EV and ESS problems will be around material supply chains.
Battery Giga factories are coming, but local Anode and Cathode plants aren’t coming on at the same rate.
Currently US manufacturing capacity for all lithium ion battery applications is 60GWh.
Falling well short in both Anode and Cathode plants required. Not sure how all the OEMs intend to comply with the IRA tax requirements- by 2027, 80% of the battery to be tax credit eligible is to be sourced locally/FTA countries.
