For those interested here’s a link to a recent research paper covering the teardown of a Tesla 4680 cell.
It might not appeal to everyone but considering Tesla use a DBE method and are targeting 22% battery market share in 2030 it’s always worth keeping up with their tech especially with such close links to Novonix.
This 4680 cell uses Flake graphite, no silicon & what appears to be a thinner application of material on one side of the collector as opposed to the other side.

** I’ve also noticed Mark Obrovac has increased his research regarding silicon in the anode. His last 3 papers are focused on this.
He has a background in silicon anode research as part of his roll with 3M before NVX so it’s very possible a silicon product is in the pipeline as part of the overall Novonix portfolio.
