I agree with you on the second paragraph. They'll have to do more than 301 tariffs if the Chinese can get around them with EV assembly plants in FTA countries. Not too sure what and how. As you know, the IRA is legislated ie Law. The Republicans control the lower house so they won't allow them to legislate any necessary changes. Especially in an election year where they'll run a negative campaign on any failings of the IRA. Think the LNP on steroids x 10. As I posted before, Manchin has humbugged Bidens administration. His departing gift.

I listened to a pod Normandy posted in SYR below. A pod member spends a lot of time in China. The Chinese aren't concerned about FEOC. They were expecting it, it doesn't shut the door and the IRA finishes in 2030.

I'm hoping the administration does a lot of finger pointing at SYR's Vidalia plant. SYR received the first DOE loan in a decade and has the first plant operational using those funds. Someone in here or SYR posted a Biden tweet with the Secretary of Energy replying. Biden's tweet was about 2024 being the year things get built. I can't find it. Hopefully someone can.
