Vianode are on the green track, claiming. 1.9kg CO2/kg of synthetic graphite produced. This compares with China -quick avg I’ve found is 17kg CO2/kg.
Current NVX estimate is “60% less than China” . Vianodes claim is 90% less than China.
I believe Vianode’s advantage is based on access to all renewable power. Perhaps if NVX furnace power was derived similar they could argue the same.
What I have not been able to find a comparison of, is cost per kg & it’s worth noting, products are specific to a battery maker, so price comparison is difficult.
Regardless, it’s a great achievement. I hope in the future this sort of innovation carries a price premium. Sadly, it appears, the only way that will be happening is with some pressure in the form of govt legislation.
