Here’s the Environmental Assessment for KorePlex dated June 2023.
We will never know the exact reasons but my guess is it’s typical project overselling versus bureaucracy. Although rising inflation wouldn’t help.
The KorePower website was recently updated showing progress as of March 1st 2024 (Buckeye City Zoning & Planning approval) but no indication of the project completion date.
Lindsay let it slip in a recent interview that Koreplex production would commence in 2026. Explains why Chris has removed Koreplex from 2024/2025 production conversations instead choosing to focus on Panasonic.
The KorePlex EA gives a good overview of the project including phase 1 completion timeframes (6Gwh) taking 2 years from survey & site prep.
Although this below statement from the EA indicates the over ambitious tone considering Zoning & Planning consent was yet to be confirmed from Buckeye City.
“The first phase of the Koreplex facility is anticipated to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2024. (That was June 2023).
When Novonix changed their terminology from Kore 3000t 2024 to 3000t production capacity 2024 it was evident Kore was having delays.
i assume Novonix wil be producing their product H2 2025
