it’s a different thing. NVX are creating the powder in a dry process vs a wet continually stirred process. That powder will then be applied to the cathode foils by the battery OEM.
the process LG are talking about is the coating to the foils. This is done in a wet process by all OEMs except Tesla is working on a dry process now in their 4680 line in Austin (they purchased a company called Maxwell quite a few years ago for the IP), so far they only have been able to dry coat cathode.

there is competition but to my knowledge NVX is several years ahead of others with regard to the creation of cathode material in a dry process.
