I see the confusion between Novonix's "dry cathode" tech and Tesla's "dry-coating" tech on this forum a lot. Those technologies are different, but complimentary.

Try to think of it this way:

Anode = peanut butter
Cathode = jam
Battery foil/roll = bread
Jeff Dahn = guy holding butter knife

1. Novonix's "dry cathode" tech makes jam with a dry process.
2. Novonix's "gen 3 furnace" tech bakes peanuts better than traditional Acheson furnace process.
3. Tesla's "dry-coating" tech is like the butter knife that spreads the peanut butter and jam onto the bread.

Tesla currently buys their jam and peanut butter from China and Korea. Maybe they will diversify and start buying groceries from NA soon
