With the dual appointment that Jeff Dahn has with both Novonix and Tesla, its hard to rule out a connection.
Could be something there, could be nothing.
Noting that Chris Burns used to work with Tesla, Jeff Dahn's son Jackson has been with Novonix for the past 5 years in the engineering department also. The connections are strong, whether that crosses over to business/IP sharing is another matter...
