California is down on Toyota. We made the markets hybrids here in the US, alas Toyota just bet wrong on fuel cells and I believe hydrogen and have solid state in the works and now the Tsunami is passing them by. They opened factories in the Southeast US and actually hired lobbyists to delay Biden's new mileage standards which Trump had combatted against, specifically targeting CA which always has an exception from the EPA. California is always the leader in this. They are quickly trying to catch up in this. Alas, politically they are in the doghouse to the State that made them... interesting to see how their sales do but I would not buy a hybrid now for their resale will be nil but for the ones that have a High Occupancy Vehicle lane sticker for life...
