Another chemistry being considered by SK for the US.
LFP uses synthetic graphite and/or at least a blend of natural and synthetic for the anode. Who is the only producer scaling synthetic in the US, that would be Novonix!!!
Also in the quarterly, we see Novonix moving their R&D into LFP for Cathode materials, along side NCM using DPMG technology, with Jeff Dahn as Chief Scientific Adviser. Plenty of patents for IP being filed.
Even tho Redwood Materials have the bulk of cathode supply for SK and SK having a internal graphite anode supplier. Both dont have the capability to produce synthetic graphite in the US, unless they import from China.
