I think it is more of a matter of quantity rather than quality. And if Samsung decided to build a factory in the US, it will need a lot more materials than Novonix can supply, but the new factory won't be starting to produce any batteries until about 2024 even if they started the construction right now, Novonix can earn some time to scale up if Samsung promised a sales agreement. All in my humble opinion.
Samsung said that they will announce their US batter plan before the end of this year. As now Samsung's chairman returned to Korea, they can work this out and make an announcement soon.
I think it is more of a matter of quantity rather than quality....
