Isn't silicon inferior to graphite (natural or synthetic)?
Although silicon is more easily available, i think it was reported that this material significantly reduces the effectiveness of the battery within the initial charging cycle.

It is very interesting though that they are purchasing these new companies for materials that have been proven to not be as effective in the long run however in saying that, maybe they have managed to identify a way around this.

Either way i dont think all companies will be using the same materials as Tesla. As Dr. Chris Burns has stated their patented DPMG process blows the 1.5 MM out of the water so i still have hope that they will take something from this EV movement. Hold until BD is still my sentiment.
